A Snapshot of Your Day

A local Wind Service Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of wind turbines, ensuring the wind farm produces reliable power. This wind farm is located in Baird, TX. The technician performs routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and climbs towers for inspections and repairs. They also contribute to the overall safety and efficiency by following safety protocols, maintaining records, and assisting with other tasks as needed.

• Drive the Safety Culture on site: set standards for safety and ensure others working around you are working safely and correctly.
• Drive Quality in each turbine: perform high quality maintenance with your team and support in improving cleanliness and operation of the machines daily.
• Drive continuous process improvements: provide suggestions and ideas to leadership on site to improve current processes and any other ideas that could drive positive change in how the site operates.
• Improve cost impacts to the organization: reduce costs by performing quality maintenance in the machines and leaving a positive impact on the turbines so that they operate more efficiently and effectively.

• Driving is an essential function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with an acceptable driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks of their license.
• Minimum two years Wind Experience with a High School Diploma or GED required. 3+ years Wind experience with an Associates or Trade School Degree/Certification.
• Proficiency in Microsoft software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to climb to heights up to 250 feet or greater and work in confined spaces.
• Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations.
• Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position.

The team is a small group of close technicians. A large portion of the team has been at site since the beginning of the contract and a few others started later, but they all take pride in their work and ensure that the standard is held every single day. As a technician, you’ll be introduced to other supporting individuals like the Short-Term Operations planner as well as the Technical Project Specialist who bring an array of experience to the table.
