Senior Operations Research Analyst - PR 1334
PE Systems, Inc. has a great opportunity for a Senior Operations Research Analyst supporting Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3) Program at Kirkland AFB, NM location.
Responsibilities- Use a range of methods, including forecasting and data mining, to examine and interpret data (implementing OR techniques for consistent, predictive analysis to identify WS risks, issues, and opportunities).
- Write memos, reports, and other documents and often present data and conclusions to managers and executives.
- Convey technical information in a way understandable to nontechnical audiences; present results of modeling and data analysis to management.
- Apply strong critical‑thinking skills to organize information and make connections between ideas and facts.
- Collaborate with senior managers and decision makers to identify solutions and clarify objectives.
- Work with others to ensure successful implementation of chosen solutions.
- Use interpersonal skills to work on teams and persuade leaders to accept recommendations.
- Apply mathematics skills to create models, using statistics, calculus, linear algebra, and other mathematical disciplines.
- Formulate mathematical or simulation models of problems, defining constants, variables, restrictions, alternatives, and conflicting objectives.
- Diagnose problems and analyze relevant information to solve them.
- Validate and test models to ensure adequacy; reformulate as necessary.
- Utilize and/or tailor risks for implementation into the WS Worthiness Assessment (WWA) process.
- Aggregate and document results of RIO analysis for presentation to AFNWC/NC leadership.
- Support WS lead Command and program offices as directed.
- Provide SME to AFNWC/NCW Division leadership and stakeholders as directed.
- Formulate and apply mathematical modeling and other optimizing methods to develop information that assists management with decision‑making, policy formulation, or other managerial functions.
- Possess sufficient knowledge of applied mathematics to use OR methods.
- Collect and analyze data; develop decision support software, services, or products.
- Develop and supply optimal time, cost, or logistics networks for program evaluation, review, or implementation.
- Develop, manage, and execute processes for assessing the WS ability to execute assigned missions.
- Accredited BA Degree in operations research or at least 24 semester hours in operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or related courses; 10+ years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
- Courses may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research (e.g., Engineering, Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science).
- Must possess and maintain a government security clearance at the Top‑Secret/SCI level.
- Must be able to work on high‑visibility or mission‑critical aspects of a program and perform all functional duties independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Must be able to transport self to various facility sites; if using own vehicle, must possess a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
