Design Safety Basis Specialist – Urenco USA
Location:
Eunice, NM. Relocation support offered.
- Perform facility design safety basis activities focusing on process hazard analyses and chemical dose consequence analyses.
- Work in Engineering and Integrated Safety Analysis, interfacing with employees and managers at all levels.
- Provide engineering support in calculations, walkdowns, and configuration management control.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of direct work experience, including at least 2 years at a nuclear facility.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or equivalent.
- 2+ years of direct work experience, including at least 2 years at a nuclear facility.
- Experience performing chemical dose consequence analyses.
- Master’s or PhD in Physics, Nuclear or Chemical Engineering.
- Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- 5+ years of related work experience (2 years at a nuclear facility).
- 2+ Years of experience at a Part 70 licensee.
- Design Safety Basis Development, HAZOP, Documented Safety Analysis experience.
- Work Location:
Eunice, NM. - Work Schedule:
Professional with minimal night/weekend support; occasional nights/weekends required. - Travel Required:
10% or less. - Security Clearance Requirement:
Controlled Access Area (CAA) Access and an L or Q level clearance. - Emergency Response: ERO duty may be required; on-call 24/7 during designated duty week.
- Work Environment:
Radiological exposure expectations of [details pending].
- Independently perform analysis and design activities supporting facility operations and future projects.
- Perform chemical dose consequence calculations using modeling software and conduct independent design reviews.
- Develop designs and analyses supporting assigned facility and engineering programs.
- Verify assumptions and adequacy of calculations.
- Provide technical support for design, installation, and maintenance of site projects.
- Collaborate with other organizations to resolve technical issues.
- Apply sound engineering judgment and professional rigor in all tasks.
Compensation starting at: $98,761 - $146,169 per year, up dependent on candidate.
