Overview

Position Title:

Audio – Visual (A/V) Technician.

Reports To:

Banquets Manager, Captain. Supervises: N/A.

Summary:

Oversees and performs all A/V needs for events, including installing, setting up, connecting, testing, cleaning, maintaining, operating, assessing, monitoring, troubleshooting, and tearing down audio and video equipment and peripherals for events such as concerts, sporting events, virtual classrooms, conferences, banquets, entertainment shows, and special events. Equipment includes projectors, video screens, sound systems, microphones, mixing equipment, recording equipment, conferencing equipment, amplifiers, speakers, lighting, and related cables, connectors, adapters, and peripherals.

• Maintain high level of positive and professional communication with team members, management, and guests.
• Check equipment and room setup against Banquet Event Orders; communicate additions or deletions to Supervisor/Manager.
• Install and test operation of all necessary equipment for each event.
• Tape down and dress loose wires and cabling during setup.
• Instruct guests on proper usage and operation of installed A/V equipment; assist with troubleshooting.
• Break down, secure, and clean/maintain equipment when not in use.
• Be flexible with work schedule (weekends, nights, holidays, extended hours, on-call as needed).
• Meet with clients prior to events as scheduled.
• Provide guests with directions or venue information and address comments/complaints promptly, professionally, and with a customer-service mindset.
• Ensure behavior and performance align with IMGR&C values (Accountability, Productivity, Acceptance, Communication, Hospitality, Enthusiasm).
• Contribute ideas to improve performance and guest satisfaction; support department and resort success.

• Maintain clear and professional communication with team and guests.
• Install, test, and operate equipment for each event; troubleshoot as needed.
• Dress wires and cabling; ensure safety and aesthetics.
• Assist guests with operation and troubleshooting of A/V equipment.
• Adhere to SOPs, task lists, and quality standards; respond to obstacles and adapt to changes.
• Protect resort property; keep equipment and areas neat, clean, and in good repair.
• Attend required Marketing Special Events and Concerts as scheduled.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent; strong communication skills; aptitude for electronics; ability to work under high pressure; strong time-management and attention to detail; positive attitude; strong customer service focus; ability to work independently and in a team; adherence to business policies and dress code.
• Prior experience with Casino/Hotel Resort A/V operations is a plus.
• Mescalero Apache Tribal preference, bicultural experience preferred; meet MATGC licensure requirements; be able to pass negative drug/alcohol tests.

The physical demands described are representative of those required to perform essential duties: standing, walking, using hands, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to stand for extended periods.

The work environment is loud and may include second-hand smoke; exposure to biohazards and potential hostile situations with guests; high-stress environments may occur.
