The Role
The Universal Banker is responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction. This role identifies opportunities for bank customers and offers products and services that fulfill their needs. They support efforts to maximize revenue, deposit growth, sales, and customer satisfaction while minimizing operational losses. The ideal candidate can assist with a large variety of bank duties including teller transactions, opening new accounts, and assisting with loan processing.
This position is located in our Tularosa branch and is not a remote role.
- Assist with customer transactions on the teller line, including cashing checks, accepting deposits and loan payments, and processing withdrawals.
- Provide knowledge to assist customers on topics such as electronic banking and updating accounts.
- Understand multiple areas of the bank and provide guidance in areas including new accounts, ACH, wire transfers, and more.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Act as an escalation point for customer inquiries, using critical thinking and policy guidance to reach the best decision.
- Engage with the local community, including cross-selling and generating new lines of business with a focus on growing deposits.
- Lead to coordinate bank staff to execute our strategic plan and be a strong team player willing to assist with various tasks.
- Understand the technical side of banking and the software used by bank staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 6–12 months of banking experience preferred, but not required.
- Understanding of banking regulations required; training provided.
