Full‑time Salary Position starting at $55k DOE plus benefits.

Located in Taos, NM. Working out of our Palacio de Marquesa.

Position

Purpose:

The Innkeeper works under the direction of the General Manager and plays a central role in creating welcoming, memorable, and seamless guest experiences. Serving as a hands‑on hospitality leader, the Innkeeper oversees daily property operations, fosters a positive environment for both guests and employees, assists with meal preparation and room turnover, and ensures the property consistently reflects high standards of comfort and care.

This role also carries responsibility for maintaining operational excellence while living on‑site in support of the property’s success.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Will provide leadership and guidance to on‑site support as needed.

Essential Duties and Functions/Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • The Innkeeper will receive daily assignments from and report directly to the General Manager regarding the day‑to‑day operation of the property.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and a positive approach with employees, coworkers and guests.
  • Set up, prepare and serve breakfast to guests and ensure cleanup of the dining room and kitchen areas.
  • Manage advance and walk‑in reservations, provide detailed information about guest rooms and property amenity.
  • Facilitate guest arrivals and departures, provide amenity services and ensure guests have a seamless experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the property, including the main house, kitchen, guest rooms and outdoor spaces.
  • Communicate regularly with property staff regarding job assignments and timelines to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Ensure property compliance with legal, safety, operational, labor and Heritage brand standards.
  • Interact frequently with guests to obtain feedback, recognizing excellent team performance and identifying opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Oversee or carry out special projects as assigned for the property.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the functions of the Innkeeper position as needed by leadership.

Requirements
  • Live‑in position; employee must reside on the property to perform role responsibilities.
  • Minimum 1 year hospitality experience (hotel or B&B preferred) with strong guest service skills; leadership experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Windows and MS Office; experience with hospitality PMS software a plus.
  • Knowledge of food & beverage operations, including health department guidelines; NM Food Handler and Serve Safe Manager certifications a plus.
  • Familiarity with Taos and surrounding areas.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, multitasking, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, and late nights; able to stand for extended periods and lift/carry up to 30+ pounds.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; hospitality‑focused higher education a plus.
