Description
The Receiving & Inventory Specialist will assist with unloading and storing product shipments and will maintain efficient unloading procedures. They will also ensure accurate tracking, management, and reporting of warehouse inventory.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesNone.
Duties/Responsibilities- Unloads deliveries, labels materials, and stores products in their designated locations.
- Maintain efficient unloading procedures.
- Compares the number of items in each shipment to shipping invoices to verify product inventory.
- Performs incoming inspection process by assessing product width, thickness, dimensions, damage, and material type.
- Performs physical counts of materials to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Perform regular cycle counts and reconcile them with Global Shop Solutions (ERP system).
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including overages, shortages, and damaged goods.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage and labeling of products.
- Prepare and analyze inventory reports, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety and organizational standards for inventory handling. Maintains 6S (sort, set, shine, standardize, sustain, safety) standards in all work stations.
- Operates forklifts.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Basic math skills (ex. addition, subtraction, multiplication).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Global Shop Solutions.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable insights.
- Mechanical inclination.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Function well in a high‑paced and at times stressful environment.

Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of prior shipping / receiving experience.
- Prior experience with inventory counts.
- Must have prior forklift experience.
- Forklift certification preferred.
- Uncontrolled environmental conditions: noise, dust, dirt, and mobile equipment.
- Routine, repetitive lifting up to 35 lbs., occasional, heavy lifting, and pushing/pulling 10 lbs. regularly, 1 to 10 hours per day.
- Any combination of standing, bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, feeling, and walking 8 to 10 hours per day.
- Ability to work up to 8–10‑hour shifts and overtime as required by the work.
- Use of all limbs, dexterous and steady use of hands and arms for long periods of time.
- Simultaneous mental and muscular coordination, visual and audio awareness of surrounding area.
