Duties- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including medical histories, physical exams, and diagnostic testing.
- Identify and diagnose acute, chronic, and complex health conditions.
- Develop individualized care plans that address patient needs, including treatment goals and expected outcomes.
- Prescribe medications, therapies, and medical devices.

RequirementsU.S. citizenship is required. Selectees may be subject to a probationary period. Selective Service registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959. This is a designated position covered by Public Law 101‑630, requiring… etc.
Successful candidates must ensure IHS medical staff clinical privileges, maintain licensure and immunization policy compliance, and pass background, fingerprint, and credit checks before employment.
Background InvestigationAll applicants must undergo a pre‑employment fingerprint check and background investigation. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory clearance.
Qualifications- Education:
Graduate or higher‑level degree, bachelor’s degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. For foreign graduates, a Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools certification is required. - Licensure:
National Council Licensure Examination passed and active, unrestricted state or territorial license. Advanced Practice Nurse positions require specialty license in the clinical specialty required by the position. - Experience:
At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS‑12 grade level (e.g., independent practice as a nurse practitioner, developing treatment plans, prescribing medications, crisis intervention, quality improvement activities).
- Professional advanced practice nursing experience equivalent to at least the GS‑12 grade level.
- One year of specialized experience in a comparable federal or private sector.
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower federal grade level in either the private or public sector, performing tasks such as analyzing patient histories, diagnosing, prescribing, managing acute and chronic conditions, and developing treatment plans.
