Trauma Sales Representative II | Raleigh Durham, NC Life. Unlimited. At Smith+Neb show? Join our Orthopaedic Trauma team as a Trauma Sales Representative II and play a key role in driving growth across the Raleigh Durham, North Carolina territory. This is an exciting field based opportunity for an experienced medical device sales professional who thrives on building surgeon relationships, influencing clinical decision making, and delivering exceptional customer support.

You will partner with healthcare professionals to improve patient outcomes while growing a successful territory within a market leading orthopaedics business.

What will you be doing?
  • Drive sales growth and achieve assigned quota objectives across the Raleigh Durham territory
  • Build strong relationships with orthopedic surgeons, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, operating room staff, administrators, clinicians, and researchers
  • Convert new business through strategic sales calls, clinical expertise, and financial program solutions
  • Provide technical and product expertise on the Orthopaedic Trauma portfolio to support customer needs and procedural success
  • Deliver product education, conduct hospital in service programs, and facilitate surgeon training through labs and educational courses
  • Develop and execute territory business plans in partnership with sales leadership
  • Collaborate closely with Trauma, Endoscopy, and Reconstruction colleagues to ensure excellent customer service and account support
  • Support group contract accounts by maintaining technical sales support and customer engagement
  • Assist with field projects including market evaluations, competitive research, surveys, and test market activities
  • Maintain accurate communication with sales leadership regarding customer activity, market opportunities, pricing recommendations, and territory performance
  • Mentor and support the development of less experienced sales team members
  • Manage assigned field inventory and product samples
What will you need to be successful?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of medical device sales experience with at least 2 consecutive years of quota attainment
  • Experience selling orthopedic products preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience required
  • Proven success converting business and influencing purchasing decisions at the surgeon and hospital level
  • Experience leading, coaching, or mentoring developing sales professionals
  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship building skills
  • Ability to learn and operate complex medical equipment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel 50% to 75%
  • Internal candidates must be in good standing for promotion consideration
  • Field sales professionals entering healthcare facilities must complete credentialing requirements and follow facility protocols, including established vaccine policies.
