Overview
Position Title: Security Officer
Reports To: Security Manager, Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Summary Of Position: Responsible for ensuring security and safety with Resort and Casino guests and employees of IMGR&C against fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. The Security Officer maintains security over the facility during assigned shifts, and escorts internal money transfers throughout the IMGR&C or to external armored car facilities. Escorts customers and employees to ensure their safety.
Responsibilities- Provide guests with directions or other venue information. Act upon all comments/complaints in a prompt, professional and friendly manner.
- Provide security according to Key Responsibilities and SOPs; patrol buildings and grounds; safeguard assets; respond to radio and emergency calls; enforce gaming regulations; prepare accident and incident reports; guard and transport chips, tokens, currency, and coins; inspect for tampering; observe and report irregularities; take appropriate actions to protect property.
- Maintain excellent customer relations; observe drop procedures; perform card game and table game drop; regulate access and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates; handle investigations and enforcement of rules including bans as needed.
- Work with other departments; stand/walk for extended periods; obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
- Contribute to the team with ideas to improve performance and guest satisfaction; demonstrate professionalism and adherence to appearance standards; follow attendance policies; communicate timely with supervisors and next shift.
- High School Diploma or GED, or six months to one year job-related experience;
Mescalero Apache Tribal preference; bicultural experience preferred; valid state driver’s license or ability to obtain one. - Physical Demands:
Standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds; ability to work in a loud environment and may be exposed to second-hand smoke. - Must be able to obtain and maintain a Class III Gaming License.
The work environment includes a loud atmosphere with potential second-hand smoke exposure; may involve exposure to biohazardous conditions and high-stress situations; requires adherence to regulatory, departmental, and resort policies and procedures.
