Based in a welcoming elementary school just outside of Moriarty, NM, you will make a meaningful impact as part of a dedicated team, engaging directly with students in preventative, supportive, and crisis situations.

This position emphasizes proactive interventions through lessons and counseling for small groups and grade levels based on student needs. Youll have the opportunity to provide both individual and group counseling services and play a crucial role in crisis intervention efforts, ensuring the safety and emotional health of the school community. This is a contract role starting as soon as possible and running through late May 2027, providing stability and room for professional growth.

Qualifications

and

Experience:
  • Holds a valid LMSW, with supervision available for candidates seeking to progress to LCSW
  • Experience or strong interest in working within school environments (elementary preferred)
  • Skilled in delivering individual and group counseling services to students
  • Able to design and facilitate targeted interventions for preventative support
  • Calm and effective in crisis intervention settings
  • Collaborative work style for partnering with staff and administration
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, student-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver proactive social emotional lessons to small groups and grade levels
  • Provide individual and group counseling to address student needs
  • Respond to and manage crisis intervention situations
  • Leverage data to identify students or groups in need of additional support
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families as needed
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all students
