How You’ll Help us Connect the WorldComm Scope seeks a Staff Software QA Engineer specializing in design verification testing and automation for our Video Distribution Systems used for efficient and secure content distribution to pay TV customers. The primary duties include:
- Test Plan Design: create structured test plans based on feature specs and system requirements.
- Feature, Regression & Integration Testing: manual and automated testing across different stages of development.
- Bug Lifecycle Management using JIRA.
- Test Management using Zephyr Scale for both test case development and execution.
- Automation framework development (building and extending).
- Parametric verification (RF, Audio, and Video).
- Use vulnerability scanning tool (Nessus/Qualys).
This position is based in the Apodaca/Monterrey metropolitan area, candidates from other locations are welcome to apply.
Required Qualifications for Consideration- BS or in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- 5-8 years in QA/testing roles, collaborating closely with developers.
- Strong programming skills with Java and Python.
- Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium and Pytest.
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Linux OS:
Experience with Linux environments (shell scripting, system-level testing). - Version control systems (e.g., Git).
The following are not mandatory Skills (Good to have)
- CI/CD pipeline integration (e.g Jenkins)
- IP Networks Fundamentals (Protocols: TCP, UDP, ARP, DHCP, HTTP/S. Diagnostic Tools: ping, trace route).
- Cloud Platforms Knowledge (i.e. AWS, Google, Azure)
- Signal Measurement Equipment:
Useful for video distribution systems - Knowledge of containerization and orchestration (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Auto It is a plus.
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering
- Familiar with MPEG-2/4/HEVC and/or DVB Service Information, Content Distribution Network (CDN), Digicipher Streaming;
Nessus/Qualys is desirable. - Strong teamwork and capable of multi-tasking in a technical environment.
