We are looking for Nordic instructors to teach cross‑country skiing, both traditional and skating styles, as well as snowshoeing at our winter Nordic Center. This position would also involve general Nordic area responsibilities such as selling lessons, shoveling snow, and maintaining and monitoring the children’s sledding hill. We are looking for applicants who can provide exceptional customer service at all times, work well under pressure, follow strict policies and procedures, work as a team, and help foster a positive, fun and safe working environment.
Base Pay: Starts at $16/hr depending on experience
Location: Angel Fire Resort Nordic Center
Employee Type: Hourly, non‑exempt
Job Category: Seasonal. Very part‑time (holidays/weekends only) positions are available.
Leadership Responsibilities: No
Qualifications: Must be able to cross country and skate ski at an advanced level. Having a Nordic Certification from PSIA is an advantage but not required.
Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in‑person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled
Minimum Age: 18
Typical Shift: Starts around 9:00am and ends around 4:00pm (includes being on‑call for lessons and working split shifts)
Environment: This is a physically demanding, outdoor position and applicants can expect to work long hours in variable winter weather conditions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Teach lessons in ways that the guest can benefit from, and help guests in any way possible during lessons to leave with a positive experience
- Prepare lesson plans that are fun, student‑centered, and constructive
- Observe students during practice to detect and correct mistakes
- Become knowledgeable on all of the Nordic routes, gear, and offerings in order to successfully guide customers throughout the lesson
- Strive to provide a positive experience for the guests and provide excellent customer service at all times
- Report any injuries or complications during lessons to manager
- Help shovel snow, sell tickets, and monitor the children’s sledding hill
- Assist Nordic Manager in any daily tasks or projects as needed
Other: A ski jacket will be provided as part of the uniform. Must provide own equipment and all other winter clothing.
