Position: Inside/Outside Operator
Rotating 12-hour shifts 7a-7p, 7p-7a, days, nights and weekends.
Assignment length is approximate - based upon candidate performance, could be extended.
Primary Duties (include but not limited to)
Be a working team member of the Co-Gen operating team – troubleshoot, adjust, and operate water treatment equipment, maintain proper water chemistry, operate river pumps, complete ETP rounds, compressor rounds, other outside rounds, and support both inside and outside operator roles as necessary.Expected to learn operation of CoGen/BoHo systems & how to effectively shutdown & start-up.Demonstrate compliance with safety practices & procedures, environmental requirements, & housekeeping standards.Perform data collection & entry, and maintain report data.Shutdown, start-up, and operate all outside area (WTP) equipment and inside area equipment (Co-Gen, steam system, water system, process air system, Rockwell control system).Participate in shift operations meetings & support plan of the day as assigned.Complete routine maintenance.Qualifications Basic:
High School diploma or GED equivalency required.Minimum 5 years experience in a similar role.Demonstrated excellent safety performance and attendance.Possess high degree of "people" skills and be able to effectively communicate with other team members daily.Candidate must be able to work on elevated work platforms, catwalks, scaffolding, etc. Enter and work in confined spaces.Able to perform Co-Gen Outside Operator duties for water treatment equipment, water chemistry, river pumps, ETP rounds, compressor rounds, & other outside rounds as necessary.Able to perform Co-Gen Inside Operator duties, including turbines, steam system, electrical systems, process air systems, and Rockwell Control System in-depth.Preferred:
Relevant work experience in electrical Co-generation, Boiler House, Water Treatment processes.CT OE-2 Limited Operating Engineer Journeyperson License.Mechanical abilities a plus.Knowledge of SAP.Other:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.Ability to handle multiple priorities.Problem solving and decision-making skills.Motivated self-starter.Good communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with many different people daily.Work with no supervision or in a team to complete work on time.Work environment:
Small team 2-4 people working together at any one given time.Must provide own safety shoes. Will be provided with bump caps, safety goggles to go over glasses, safety vests.Will be working a combination of outside and inside the plant. Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions like snow, rain, etc.Some downtime expected. Will be doing rounds and also working in the control room monitoring control panel.Manager interested in candidates who have good experience with Boiler operation, water treatment background, electrical generation. Fast learner.
