Direct Care Staff - Milford

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking Direct Care Staff to join our team in the New Milford, CT area. Our residential, outreach, and direct care staff establish life-changing relationships with our participants and provide opportunities to optimize their independence, rehabilitation and recovery.

CHD is expanding its services and needs client-centered, positive role models to support individuals who are challenged by mental health and substance abuse histories. We will train you extensively in our recovery and treatment approaches and provide you with a rewarding professional experience. Compass House provides a positive and supportive environment for individuals with persistent psychiatric conditions, enabling them to live safely and successfully within the community.

This program is specifically tailored to support clients who face ongoing challenges with community living and who have a history or repeated psychiatric hospitalizations. Our team assists residents in developing daily living skills, integrating into the community, engaging socially, and participating in recreational activities. These efforts promote greater independence and overall well-being.

• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience working with psychiatric disorders or co-occurring population preferred
• Ability to pass certification for CPR, First Aid
• Reliable, registered & insured vehicle and approved driving record check.
• Approved criminal background check (CORI)

• Full Time: 2nd shift, 2:00pm-10:00pm. Days on:
  Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Days off:
  Friday and Saturday.
• Part Time: 3rd shift, 10:00pm-6:00am. Days on:
  Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Days off:
  Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
