Electrical Maintenance Technician – Georgia‑Pacific LLC (Milford, New Jersey)

Salary- Starting salary: $39.50 per hour
- 2nd shift differential: $1.50 per hour
- 3rd shift differential: $2.00 per hour
- Potential for salary increases based on skills and contribution
- Eligible for Performance Pay up to 6% quarterly bonus
- Hiring for 2nd shift only (may include overtime, holidays, weekends)
- Orientation on 1st shift (7:00 am–3:00 pm); permanent shift assigned thereafter
- Milford operates on a point‑based attendance program
- 1st shift:
Monday–Friday 6:30 am–3:30 pm; weekends & overtime as needed - 2nd shift:
Monday–Friday 2:30 pm–11:30 pm; weekends & overtime as needed - 3rd shift:
Monday–Friday 10:30 pm–7:30 am; weekends & overtime as needed
Our team focuses on sheet production across multiple packaging lines. We supply a wide range of boxes and flutes to meet performance and creative needs. The plant is located across the Delaware River from Riegelsville, PA, and is close to several nearby towns.
Responsibilities- Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
- Help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals through quality maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems and repair/maintain equipment per plant policies
- Install and repair mechanical drives, chains, sprockets, gears, belts, and couplings
- Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics
- Use hand tools, power tools, precision‑measuring devices, and testing instruments
- Complete mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance activities
- 2+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or military environment – or 2‑year electrical controls degree with 1+ year industrial maintenance experience
- Experience installing/troubleshooting electric motors up to 480 V and controls components (relays, switches, drives, I/O cards)
- Knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, & mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and precision measurements
- Experience troubleshooting bearings, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, conveyors
- Experience with PLC interface pattern control
- Experience working with hydraulic & pneumatic systems
- Must provide own metric and standard tools (sockets, wrenches, Allen T‑handles)
- Experience with Computerized Work Order Systems
- Two‑year or higher degree in Industrial Technology
- Experience in the corrugated packaging industry
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Experience reading technical drawings and schematics
- Experience programming PLCs
- Strict adherence to safety rules (including wearing safety equipment)
- Perform tasks requiring lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing/pulling up to 12 hours a day in a loud/noisy, high‑volume environment
