About the role
In this post, you’ll be working one-to‑one with a young person on an EHCP. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional or someone passionate about supporting children with diverse educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide one-to‑one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
- Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and personal development
- Help implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning targets
- Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils in developing independence and confidence
- Adapt resources and learning materials to meet individual pupil needs
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers
- Support pupils with personal care requirements where necessary
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are always met
- Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or educational setting
- Understanding of a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Good organisational and time‑management skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (preferred)
- Positive, proactive, and professional attitude

Salary: £14.25 – £16/hour
