Welder / Fabricator

Location: New Minas, NS (and surrounding areas)
Work Type: On-site | Full-Time| Contract
Hours: Day Shift – 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (42.5 hrs/week)
Pay: $23.00 – $35.00/hour (negotiable based on experience)
Start Date: ASAP

What You’ll Be Doing

• Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and specifications
• Operate manual, semi-automatic, and automated welding equipment
• Perform cutting, shaping, bending, and straightening of metal
• Fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal components
• Use flame-cutting, arc-air cutting, and hoisting equipment
• Work on custom fabrication, repairs, and structural projects

Materials & Welding Techniques

Materials:

• Steel, stainless steel, aluminum alloys, iron, heavy metals

Techniques:

• SMAW (Stick)
• GMAW (MIG)
• FCAW (Flux Core)

Experience & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3+ years of welding experience (mechanical background is an asset)
• Experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments
• Strong attention to detail and hand-eye coordination

Certifications (Required or Asset)

• WHMIS
• Occupational Health & Safety
• First Aid

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• Criminal record check & drug test required
• Must have own transportation

Required PPE

• Steel-toed safety boots
• Hard hat
• Safety glasses/goggles
