H&H is offering an exciting opportunity for a Construction Inspector in our Construction Engineering & Inspection Group in our Greater New Orleans, LA office. - Read and interpret construction plans, specifications and any special requirements.
- Apply mathematical formulas and engineering principles to field measure quantities and calculate quantities of completed work to recommend payment to the contractor for items of work.
- Prepare clear and concise daily inspection reports documenting the work performed; including manpower, material and equipment used, field measurements and calculated quantities of work completed and other pertinent information.
- Maintain operational knowledge of field inspection equipment.
- Exhibit good oral and written communication skills.
- A DOTD Certification in Structural, PCCP, Embankment, etc.
- Two years of experience with roadway or bridge rehabilitation/reconstruction including:
- Highway: experience with reconstruction of pavement, drainage systems, roadway lighting and traffic signals; asphalt pavement milling and paving; utility protection/relocation; pavement markings/stripings; and related work.
- Bridge: experience with concrete & steel demolition; repair of reinforced concrete and structural steel; steel erection; construction of reinforced concrete decks; retaining walls and/or substructure units (piers & abutments); reconstruction of approach roadways; and inspection of Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC).
- Desirable certifications or training:
Head Light Fieldbook and Materials, Site Manager Daily Reporting, OSHA 10‑hour Construction Safety training, WZTC.
