Description
The High School Teacher will implement a curriculum emphasizing enrichment, higher-level thinking skills, multidisciplinary content, and complexity. Students undertake independent and group projects assessed with rubrics, challenging them academically, personally, and socially. Instruction is primarily in French, using hands-on, experiential lessons to motivate and prepare students for the digital age.
Role and Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lessons aligned with rigorous standards, collaborating with other teachers.
- Use assessment data to guide instruction and maintain accurate grades.
- Develop students' reading, writing, critical thinking, and oral skills.
- Create culturally-responsive, anti-racist learning experiences through D.E.I. lens.
- Build an inclusive classroom using restorative justice and trauma-informed practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Collaborate and seek feedback from staff and stakeholders.
- Take responsibility for students' academic progress and address challenges.
- Participate in SAT, faculty meetings, and professional development.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhere to policies.
Staff Collaboration and Reporting
Teachers plan across grade levels, working collaboratively to scaffold instruction and meet departmental goals. LFNO values diversity, empathy, and cooperation.
- Communicate effectively with administrators, teachers, and parents.
- Participate in faculty and professional learning community meetings.
- Assist in school events and orientations.
- Model non-discriminatory practices.
- Create performance-based activities supporting initiatives.

- Follow policies and be punctual.
Requirements
Educational Expectations
- Bachelor’s degree or higher

Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in education or related field
- Louisiana Certification
- French National Curriculum certification or knowledge
- Successful classroom experience
- Proficiency in French
- 3+ years urban teaching experience
