Arcadis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Water Management/Hydraulic Structural Team. The role involves delivering engineering and consulting services on projects focused on flood risk reduction, waterfront infrastructure resilience, dam safety, lock and navigation structure design, and related climate adaptation initiatives.
Responsibilities- Conduct structural analysis, design, and engineering during construction services for climate adaptation projects, including seismic risk reduction, flood mitigation, and infrastructure resilience initiatives.
- Perform structural related engineering investigations, calculations, and planning work with a well‑defined scope.
- Research feasibility of alternative design approaches, site conditions, and regulatory agency specifications.
- Develop calculations, plans, specifications, requests for proposals, and other contract documents.
- Work directly with engineering disciplines, project staff, clients, and subcontractors throughout the project life cycle, demonstrating clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
- Exercise judgment on work details, making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
- Function as Design Lead, Task Manager, or Project Engineer to manage budgets and schedules, lead deliverables, develop plans, permit checklists, scopes of work, and facilitate coordination for timely project completion.
- Travel may be required for project site visits, client meetings, safety audits, and construction oversight.
- Mentor entry‑level and junior structural engineering staff.
- 8 years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration or EIT with the ability to obtain PE within 6 months of hire.
The ideal candidate will have experience designing flood walls, flood gates, retaining wall structures, and deep foundations, coupled with experience on resiliency projects. A Master’s degree in Structural Engineering, proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD, MathCAD, AutoCAD, and Revit, and the ability to write project specifications and manage engineering during construction are also helpful.

The salary range for this position is $80,461 - $132,761 per year.
