The opportunity

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Independently recognize and address issues to ensure timely, accurate completion of tax returns, research, accounting, and projects, including implementation of new tax laws and analysis of tax methods for compliance.
  • Identify and develop solutions for moderately complex tax issues through research and documentation.
  • Lead the preparation and review of tax and regulatory compliance with minimal supervision.
  • Perform research and analysis on tax and accounting issues.
  • Guide and mentor team members, demonstrating technical expertise and leadership.
  • Stay updated on new tax and accounting developments and EY technologies.

Responsibilities include

  • Prepare or review complex financial closings, tax filings, and related processes.
  • Evaluate data, computations, and documentation using tax and accounting technologies.
  • Maintain service quality and understand scope-related risks.
  • Develop and document processes, aligning with internal teams.
  • Demonstrate technical excellence and broaden capabilities.
  • Provide technical assistance within EY.
  • Offer oversight, feedback, and coaching to junior team members.

Skills and Attributes for Success

  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with financial/tax applications like Gosystems, Onesource TP, and Corp Tax.
  • Attention to detail, good communication skills, and analytical ability.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Tax, Law, or Economics.
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and work independently.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and supervision skills.
  • Experience with tax accounting systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Willingness to travel and work in a hybrid environment.

Preferred but not required

  • CPA, EA, licensed attorney, Project Management Professional, or Six Sigma Black Belt.
