Pharmacist in Charge at Tarrytown Expocare Pharmacy – Join our long‑term care pharmacy leading care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities across the United States.
Responsibilities- Provide supervision for the pharmacy, including overseeing pharmacists, technicians, and the distribution team.
- Manage workflow processes related to order entry, initial review of orders, and daily and cycle‑fill production processes.
- Monitor industry, regulatory and compliance developments (e.g., State Board of Pharmacy, DEA, FDA, etc.) and work with the pharmacy leadership team to address pending regulatory changes.
- Communicate and educate staff on pharmacy‑related issues such as regulatory changes, FDA drug recalls, and other compliance matters.
- Carry out policies and procedures for the procurement, storage, security, and disposition of medications.
- Maintain all required pharmacy and technician licenses and registrations as required by the state.
- Work with leadership to respond to the board regarding any warning notice or communication from the state board of pharmacy, DEA, or other regulatory agency.
- Perform and maintain records for all controlled substances and controlled substance prescriptions in the pharmacy.
- Work with leadership to respond to and resolve all regulatory survey inquiries.
- Perform all job duties with a friendly, positive, and team‑oriented approach.
- All other duties as assigned by the Tarrytown Expocare leadership team.
- Pharmacy license – Must possess an appropriate Louisiana State Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist License.
- Minimum of five years of pharmacy practice with management experience in long‑term care required.
- Minimum 3 years of PIC/pharmacy management experience.
- Experience maintaining regulatory compliance with state and federal regulatory agencies.
- Excellent project management, communication, and people/organization skills.
- Demonstrated track record of setting and managing team goals/KPIs, ensuring accountability and a performance‑driven culture.
- Experience redesigning and simplifying workflow processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Positive personality who can work well within a team and thrive in a high‑paced and occasionally stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Can de‑escalate and troubleshoot problems within the pharmacy.
