Nurse Practitioner Description

The Department of Infectious Disease at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join our team. This role provides comprehensive care across general infectious disease services in both inpatient and outpatient settings, with a special focus on managing patients receiving OPAT (Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy). The NP will work closely with , pharmacists, nursing staff, infusion centers, and home health agencies to ensure safe, effective, and coordinated care for patients during hospitalization and as they transition to the outpatient setting.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing
  • Completion of an ANA‑approved Nurse Practitioner program with national certification.
  • Louisiana licensure to practice professional nursing plus recognition or licensure by the State Board of Nursing as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by the date of hire.
  • One year of full‑time professional clinical nurse experience.
  • Experience in infectious diseases, hospital medicine, or critical care preferred.
