Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring Epic proficiency and strong comfort with both adult and pediatric patients.
Responsibilities- Work in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) within a hospital setting
- Care for pre-op, Phase I, and Phase II recovery patients across all major surgical services except critical care
- Provide care for both pediatric and adult patients, including high volume of pediatric cases
- Unit consists of 34 operating rooms across two floors, including surgical, procedural, endoscopy, and radiology cases
- Patient ratio is typically 1:2
- Work schedule is 3x12 hour day shifts from 7:00 to 19:30
- Scheduled to work 2-3 weekends per contract
- Uses Epic EMR system and experience is required
- Nurses may provide care for regional anesthesia and ECT procedures
- Care responsibilities include patients from surgical, endoscopy, interventional radiology, and pulmonary labs
- Assignment may include emergency team duties requiring presence during emergency events as directed by management
- Requests for time off must be discussed during interview and listed on the profile
- First-time travelers will be considered
- Adherence to dress code and hospital policies is expected
- Active LA or compact RN license required
- Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and PALS (AHA only)
- Prior PACU or pre/post-op experience preferred
- Must be comfortable working with pediatric patients
- Experience with Hoyer lift, bladder scanner, and Accuvein equipment required
- Must live at least 65 miles away from the facility (no locals accepted)
