Its all‑optical IP backbone provides IP services in over 228 markets globally, enabling large bandwidth connections at highly competitive prices. Cogent also provides superior customer support through end‑to‑end service control and network monitoring.

Compensation

Base Salary: $40,000 – $80,000 per year (or $19.23 – $38.46 per hour). Commission: 50% – 150% of one month’s MRCs, 1/12 of one‑time NRCs, 1/24 of Burst. Tenured Base Salary: $40,000 – $100,000 per year (or $19.23 – $48.07 per hour) based on tenure and performance.

Responsibilities
  • Identify new business opportunities within a prescribed Regional Sales Territory via sourcing and hunting focused on the Mid Market and non‑named National Account target market segments (up to 500 – 999 employees).
  • Through direct calling, email and other contact efforts qualify, generate and close new business by working directly with key decision makers.
  • Complement prospecting and selling efforts through field work such as building walks, lobby events, property management relationships, and customer face‑to‑face meetings.
  • Leverage consultative and relationship‑building selling techniques to identify current and future connectivity solutions.
  • Help Cogent customers and prospects position our services for new business.
  • Achieve monthly revenue goals by selling into the nation's largest commercial and retail buildings; office parks and professional campuses.
Qualifications
  • Previous sales experience, recent experience strongly preferred, with a track record of success.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, qualify and generate new business through extensive prospecting and research.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team environment with revenue deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office and a CRM a plus.
  • A college degree is preferred but not required.
Work Environment

This is an in‑office position five days a week to best support your success, allowing for focused mentorship, training, and personal coaching.
