Alternate Perspectives, Inc. (API) is looking for a dedicated Substitute Security Officer to join our team! In this role, you will patrol assigned areas, monitor safety concerns, enforce security policies, and provide transportation for students when necessary.

If you want to be a part of a dynamic team that helps young people ages 16‑24 years old, this job is for you! You will be a part of the nation’s most successful youth training and education program, Job Corps, for the past 60 years.

• Maintain the safety of buildings and property through routine security checks.
• Monitor access points, verify identification, and enforce security protocols.
• Respond to incidents, conduct investigations, and document findings.
• Assist with parking and traffic control to ensure orderly movement.
• Perform routine vehicle equipment inspections and recommend repairs.
• Respond to fire alarms and support emergency procedures as needed.
• Assist students and staff in resolving conflicts and provide mentorship.
• Support the center’s Career Development Services System (CDSS) and student enrichment programs.
• Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and positive behavior.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  At least one year of related security experience; experience working with youth is a plus!
• Skills:
  
  Strong communication, problem-solving, and administrative skills.
• Tech‑Savvy:
  Basic computer proficiency for logging incidents and reports.
• Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
