Quality Technician

The Quality Assurance Technician is responsible to assist the Quality Engineers in tasks related to part and process inspection and monitoring, PPAP, APQP and customer concerns that may affect the plants quality performance, and to assist in giving guidance to Supervisors and direct Operators.

• Perform laboratory-based quality testing and inspection.
• Assist Quality Engineers in final inspections and data collection for production and new launch activities.
• Provide guidance and instruction to Production Supervisors and direct Operators regarding inspection and quality activities.
• Monitor and review basic inspection/production charts for timeliness, accuracy, and reaction.
• Perform auditing activities for compliance to print and customer requirements.
• Ensure the correct documentation is available and in use per quality requirements.
• Ensure that correct gauges are in use and properly maintained.
• Maintain necessary records and reports as per company specific procedures.
• Review quality documentation including statistical evidence and product certification for incoming material.
• Actively participate in problem solving activities for the customer and suppliers.
• Ensure housekeeping and health & safety standards are maintained.
• Comply with policies and procedures pertaining to the facility.
• Utilize the concepts of continuous improvement including Lean.
• May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description.

• Two to four years’ experience in quality preferred.
• Ability to read and understand customer product drawings preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel, as necessary.

• Professional Office Environment.
• Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on the manufacturing floor.
• Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required.
• Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of hazards.
