We are seeking a motivated and self-driven
Automation Technician
to join our team in New Richmond, WI.

Shift: Second 3pm-11pm

The Automation Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining automated manufacturing equipment to support safe and reliable production. This position works closely with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, and Production to resolve equipment issues, complete preventive maintenance, and improve equipment reliability and performance.

The Automation Technician will provide hands‑on support for electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, controls, and robotic systems and assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities.

What you will do:
  • Troubleshoot and repair automated manufacturing and assembly equipment.
  • Diagnose electrical, pneumatic, mechanical, controls, sensor, HMI, PLC, servo, and robotic system issues.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production issues to minimize downtime.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on production equipment.
  • Read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics, equipment drawings, manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Use appropriate test equipment and diagnostic tools to identify equipment faults and determine corrective actions.
  • Assist with the installation, setup, commissioning, and modification of new and existing equipment.
  • Support root‑cause investigations for recurring equipment failures and help implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, uptime, cycle time, and overall performance.
  • Complete work orders and accurately document repairs, maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment history in the site's maintenance management system.
  • Assist with maintaining appropriate spare parts for automation and production equipment.
  • Provide technical support and equipment training to production personnel as needed.
  • Work with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Production, and equipment vendors to resolve equipment‑related issues.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, quality requirements, work instructions, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Technical certificate, diploma, associate degree, OR higher in Automation, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, Electrical/Electronic Technology, OR a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experience maintaining and troubleshooting equipment in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Working knowledge of electrical and pneumatic systems, with the ability to read and interpret electrical and pneumatic schematics.
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience troubleshooting PLC‑controlled equipment and HMI systems.
  • Experience with industrial automation systems, including sensors, motors, drives, servo systems, robotics, and automated equipment.
  • Experience supporting automated assembly, injection molding, or similar manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, or equipment upgrades.
  • Experience performing root‑cause analysis and implementing corrective actions for recurring equipment problems.
  • Experience using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or ERP system.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
