American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg RN for a critical access hospital, requiring charge nurse capability and at least 1 year of Med/Surg experience with an active or pending MN RN license.

• Critical Access facility with 34 staffed beds and Level IV trauma designation
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (7p-7a)
• Patient ratios of 1:3 (days) and 1:5 (nights)
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Will float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital as needed
• Uses Epic (Excellian) EMR

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience required
• Must be able to serve as charge nurse; charge experience preferred
• Community hospital experience required
• MS/Tele and Tele experience preferred
• Experience required in blood product administration, peripheral line care/management, and starting IVs
• Heparin and insulin administration experience required
• Total joint replacement experience required
• Experience with nasal cannula, oral suctioning, oxygen face masks, and portable oxygen tanks required
• Isolation precautions experience required
• Epic/Excellian charting experience required
• Child and adolescent care competencies required
• Colostomy and feeding tube care/management preferred
• Rapid Response Team experience preferred
• One supervisor reference required for consideration

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit including wound care, IV therapy, and respiratory support
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Free parking available in any unrestricted space
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must live more than 100 miles from the facility to be considered
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift worked as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
• RTO ideally no more than 5 days during the assignment
