Wholesale Children's wear company in New York City is seeking full time bookkeeper slash assistant controller.
Role DescriptionThis is a full-time on-site role for a Bookkeeper / Assistant Controller in New York, NY. The role will be responsible for day-to-day accounting tasks, financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting the finance team with various financial activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES ACCOUNTING- Bank reconciliations
- Analyze, approve, code & enter vendors’ invoices for payment
- Generate checks
- Gather backup and code American Express bills
- Initiate all wire payments
- Prepare Royalty Reports for Licensors
- Submit orders for approval & communication with the factors.
- Monthly reconciliation of factored accounts receivable ledger
- Analyze and post credit memos for Amazon payments
- Review CBD worksheets, instruct the billing department to initiate Pro Forma invoices, and coordinate with routing once payments are received
- Process credit card payments
- Issue and follow-up return authorization from customers
- Find the cheapest transportation for returns
- Create new customers, payment terms, and ship to stores
- Open and redirect Mail as needed
- Ordering office supplies
- 3 years of experience with similar job responsibilities
- Proficiency in SAGE 100 accounting software
- Financial Reporting and Reconciliations skills
- Attention to Detail and Accuracy
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA certification is a plus
