Duties Description Court Analysts work under direct supervision, individually or on project teams, performing confidential analysis, research, planning, and other related duties in one or more of the following areas: budget development and court finance; personnel administration; resource allocation; and court system management and administration.
The Office of Language Access (OLA) has statewide oversight with matters involving court interpreting, translation and per diem interpreter testing. The OLA's goal is to ensure the UCS has the necessary language access for legal proceedings conducted in the courts and court agencies regardless of an individual's ability to communicate fluently in the spoken English language.
Key Responsibilities:
* Court Interpreter Scheduling System maintenance and updates.
* Monitor per diem court interpreter usage.
* Schedule remote interpreter appearances.
* Assist the courts in finding language access resources.
* Data Entry.
* Assist with outreach coordination.
* Monitor various OLA mailboxes.
* Respond to inquiries in writing.
* Answer telephone inquiries from the courts and public.
* Assist with program preparation.
* Follow-up and ensure onboarding criteria have been met for per diem interpreters.
* Generate statistics for reports for the Executive Office and Advisory Committee on Language Access.
Minimum Qualifications One year in the Assistant Court Analyst title; or Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience; or Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university; or An equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates are required to have strong administrative, clerical, leadership, interpersonal, writing, communication, and research skills, the ability to work and remain organized in a fast-paced office, and proficiency with MS Office, Foxit, Excel, and Adobe Desktop Publishing. Some travel within the NYS Unified Court System is required.
