Position: Merch Designer →

A Merch Designer at Beyond Studios would be responsible for supporting the lead designers in ongoing merchandise design projects.

Responsibilities
  • Support lead designers in ongoing merchandise and apparel design projects.
  • Develop artwork and graphic applications for apparel, accessories, and merchandise items (t-shirts, hoodies, hats, bags, packaging).
  • Translate brand identities and campaign concepts into wearable and sellable designs while working within established brand guidelines.
  • Manage the complete design process: research, concept development, ideation, revisions, and final implementation.
  • Prepare production-ready files, including correct sizing, placements, and print specifications for screen printing, embroidery, DTG, sublimation, and other production methods.
  • Collaborate with vendors, production partners, and internal teams to ensure design integrity from digital mockup to finished product.
  • Stay up to date with fashion, streetwear, and merch culture to inspire relevant design concepts.
  • Manage deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously, from inception to delivery.
  • Participate in client interactions, including understanding client needs, presenting ideas, and managing feedback constructively.
Required Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of hands-on experience in merchandise, apparel, or graphic design.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Figma, and other industry-standard design tools.
  • Strong understanding of apparel design workflows, garment templates, sizing, and placement guidelines.
  • Familiarity with print production processes and ability to create optimized files for each method.
  • Experience creating mockups, tech packs, or spec sheets for apparel production is a plus.
  • Solid grasp of design principles such as balance, contrast, emphasis, and proportion.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with designers, marketers, developers, and production partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, both visual and verbal.
