Job Description

SUMMARY The Brooklyn Nets are seeking a driven storyteller to elevate the team and players through content. This person will be responsible for surfacing ideas, editing short, mid & long-form videos and shooting video. The role will also develop content that supports brand goals/priorities, showcases our players, tells visually engaging stories and elicits emotional responses from target audiences. This Producer will be expected to bring a strong understanding of social media and content distribution channels to help inform and optimize output.

The Producer will support projects for internal lines of business including Basketball Operations, Marketing, Ticketing, Partnerships, Hospitality, Community, PR, and Diversity & Inclusion. The individual will be encouraged to demonstrate their shooting & editing capabilities, while showcasing a portfolio of their prior work.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

Immerse yourself in Brooklyn Nets basketball and player narratives, identify storytelling opportunities and pitch concepts

Produce and edit premium content that evokes emotion and engages with target audiences

Serve as lead produce and editor on mid/long-form content franchises, while also supporting editing on shorter form social media/vertical video edits

Collaborate with social media team to best produce content for intended channels and optimize for distribution

Conduct interviews with players, coaches, front office staff, business executives and other key partners

Shoot games, practices and off-court activities as needed

Ensure all content and assignments are delivered on time, are accurately proofed for quality control and meet best-in-class quality standards

Travel to games, shoots and events as needed

Support the production process with internal collaborators across the organization

Monitor industry trends, draw inspiration for the department, and stimulate innovation

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:3-5 years of experience as a video editor/producer

Experience working in sports and/or live entertainment is very beneficial

Technical knowledge of and experience operating digital cameras

Understanding of how major social platforms work and what content is best suited for each Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Premiere, After Effects, Media Encoder)
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently, while delivering projects on time and within budget

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Interest in popular culture and understanding of leading media properties/channels

WHO YOU ARE:

Strong visual storyteller with outstanding feel for aesthetics, sound and developing narratives

Creative approach and desire to tell compelling narratives to target audiences

Capable of excelling in a fast-paced environment, working on multiple projects concurrently

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

May be required to travel; trips may require air travel and/or overnight stay for one or more nights.

SALARY RANGE:$70,000 - $90,000 base salary

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Works primarily in an office environment but upon request will be expected to attend games and other events on evenings, weekends, and holidays.
