Are you passionate about providing exceptional care to veterans? The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System is seeking a dedicated Endocrinologist to join our team in New York, NY. This part-time position (23 hours/week) offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those who have served our country.
About UsThe VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (NYHHCS) is a multi-site medical system that includes major facilities in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, along with Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). Your RoleAs a part-time Endocrinologist at the Manhattan VA Medical Center, you will:
- Diagnose and treat a variety of endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid, adrenal, and pituitary disorders.
- Provide comprehensive endocrine care to our veteran patients.
- Conduct outpatient clinic visits and inpatient consultations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests relevant to endocrinology.
- Educate patients on disease management and preventive measures.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
- Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
- Engage in research activities to contribute to the field of endocrinology.
- Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with VA policies.
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) , providing student loan reimbursement of up to $200,000 over one to five years.
Basic Requirements- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen. Non-citizens may be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited.
- Education: Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved school.
- Licensure: Current, unrestricted medical license in the U.S.
- Residency Training: Completed residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
