About Hyde Leadership Charter School

Working at Hyde-Brooklyn is a unique and rewarding experience because our staff receives both professional development and participates in their own self- discovery process through the Hyde process of journaling, facilitated discussion, workshops and seminars.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with Director in developing highly effective instructional curricula
  • Track and analyze school wide data in order to design responsive student intervention and curriculum redesign
  • Create and monitor high-impact support plans for struggling students
  • Provide coaching and support for all teachers
  • Regularly communicate progress and priorities to students, teachers and parents
  • Review lesson plans and observe lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachers
  • Collaborate with grade/subject teams to plan units, lessons and assessments; regularly share feedback
  • Model outstanding instruction for teachers
  • Coordinate and manage professional development sessions aligned with school goals and priorities (Coaches, Consultants and outside organizations)
  • Manage testing cycle including but not limited to State, Benchmark and classroom assessment
  • Use current data to drive instruction and conduct data debrief with teachers
  • Participate in regular leadership team meetings
  • Collaborate with Director and/or lead staff trainings throughout school year
  • Collaborate with Dean of Students and Character Coordinator and Family Education Director to support efforts in character development and positive school culture and discipline (School Meeting, Hyde Huddle, suspension meetings, school wide events and initiatives)
  • Model the Hyde Leadership Charter School-Brooklyn professional and core values at all times; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the community
  • Other duties as assigned by School Director (i.e Arrival, Dismissal, Lunch, Recess, ect.)

  • Ability to make decisions in situations that are uncertain and ambiguous
Requirements
  • Attend Hyde 101 Training
  • Strong commitment to Hyde’s mission and family-based character education
  • 3-5 years professional leadership experience in a school setting
  • Previous experience supervising and leading diverse teams and programs
  • Ability to work on weekends as needed
  • Maintain confidentiality and apply discretion in all communications and activities
  • BA required, Master’s Degree in related field strongly preferred
  • Be dependable and have excellent follow-through
