Substitute Guide

We’re seeking a passionate, substitute guide to join our team and guide our students through these foundational years with care, creativity, and respect. The Substitute Teacher is an at-will, per-diem employee and not guaranteed any minimum number of workdays. This role does not include benefits unless required by applicable law.

The Substitute Teacher agrees to provide on‑call instructional services as needed by the School for students in the Infant and Primary Classrooms (3 months - 5 years).

Responsibilities include:

• Implementing lesson plans directed or left by the regular teacher (or creating age‑appropriate activities as needed).
• Encouraging a bilingual immersion environment by practicing and speaking in Spanish and English.
• Maintaining a safe and respectful classroom environment.
• Communicating with School administrators regarding student behavior or incidents.
• Following all School policies, including health, safety, and confidentiality requirements.
• Using the School’s communication systems of choice to log activities and observations for parents.

• High School Diploma
• Experience working with children ages 3 months to 5 years
• A nurturing spirit, keen observation skills, and a calm, respectful presence
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• A genuine love for the Montessori philosophy and a commitment to lifelong learning
