Doctoral Lecturer - Anthropology FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Department of Anthropology and Interdisciplinary Programs at The City College of the City University of New York invites applications for a full‑time faculty position at the rank of Doctoral Lecturer to begin in Fall 2026.
We seek anthropologists from across the subfields with innovative theoretical approaches to the study of religion and are open to scholars working in any region or religious tradition, broadly construed. Of particular interest are anthropologists with areas of expertise that complement those of the existing faculty.
The successful candidate will be responsible for and must be committed to teaching and mentoring a diverse student population in introductory and advanced courses within the Department, which is housed within the Colin Powell School (The Division of Social Science). The candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively in service to the Department, the School, and the College.
QUALIFICATIONSA Ph.D. in Anthropology or an appropriate related field is required at the time of application.
COMPENSATIONSalary Range: $70,642 to $92,454. Salary commensurate with education and experience.
