Position Summary

Northside Charter High School seeks a passionate and dedicated English Teacher for the  academic year. The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students to develop strong reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, fostering a lifelong love of literature and language arts. This position offers the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative, and dynamic learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery:
    Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons in English Language Arts, including literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary.
  • Student Engagement:
    Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture that encourages active participation, critical inquiry, and respectful discussion.
  • Assessment and Feedback:
    Design and implement assessments that evaluate student progress, provide timely feedback, and adjust instruction as needed.
  • Differentiation:
    Tailor instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including advanced learners and students requiring additional support.
  • Classroom Management:
    Maintain an organized, disciplined, and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaboration:

    Work with colleagues to align curriculum, share resources, and participate in professional learning communities.
  • Parent Communication:
    Maintain open and proactive communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Professional Growth:
    Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in English education and pedagogy.
  • School Community:
    Participate in school events, committees, and initiatives to contribute to the broader school culture.
Qualifications
  • Required:

    Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification for secondary English (or ability to obtain certification before start date).
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching English Language Arts at the high school level.
  • Preferred:
    Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience teaching Advanced Placement (AP) English or dual-credit courses.
  • Strong proficiency in integrating technology into instruction.
