Transportation Engineer – JCSI
Location: Long Island & New York City
Compensation: Up to $120,000, based on experience
Position OverviewThe Civil Transportation Engineer will play a key role within the Transportation and Infrastructure group, supporting the design and development of roadway, highway, and traffic‑related projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid‑level engineer to work on diverse public‑sector transportation initiatives and collaborate with experienced technical professionals in a fast‑paced, supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the geometric design and development of roadway/highway alignments
- Design roadway pavement markings and signage
- Support work zone traffic control plans in coordination with traffic engineers
- Assist with drainage and utility design as it relates to roadway infrastructure
- Prepare reports, cost estimates, technical specifications, and construction documents
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff
- Work closely with senior engineers and project managers to meet project objectives
- Coordinate with public agencies and multidisciplinary teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in civil/transportation design
- EIT preferred
- Familiarity with roadway/highway design standards and best practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience with AutoCAD or Micro Station
- Experience with Civil 3D or InRoads/Open Roads is a plus
- AutoCAD / Micro Station
- Civil 3D or InRoads/Open Roads (preferred)
- MS Office Suite
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams
