Overview

Join to apply for the BIM Manager - Transportation Engineering role at GFT in New York, NY. GFT is seeking a BIM Manager to join our transportation group. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at one of our NY or NJ offices.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain project CDE, ensuring consistent data organization and access
  • Manage Bentley tools such as Project Wise, Open Roads, Open Bridge, and Micro Station
  • Manage Autodesk tools such as Civil 3D, Infra Works, Revit, and Autodesk Construction Cloud
  • Troubleshoot technical and modeling issues throughout the project lifecycle
  • Assist designers in using a model-centric workflow for more accurate design and analysis
  • Identify project and client requirements and select the most effective software solutions
  • Assign key digital staff and help mitigate potential project risks
  • Support collaboration among engineers, surveyors, contractors, and other stakeholders to improve coordination and reduce errors
  • Integrate project models with data sources such as GIS to improve contextual accuracy
  • Establish workflows for data transfer, QA/QC procedures, and digital standards
  • Develop project implementation plans, including BIM execution and folder structure
  • Implement and oversee optimization tools for analyzing drainage, earthworks, and geometric design
  • Coordinate project kickoff and ongoing coordination meetings
  • Evaluate and deploy new software versions and emerging digital technologies
  • Provide mentorship and training on BIM processes, tools, and standards
  • Develop, implement, and enforce BIM standards aligned with client and GFT requirements
  • Conduct quality control reviews of digital models and deliverables
  • Support project teams with modeling, detailing, and sheet management as needed
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10 years of AEC experience with a transportation focus with at least 3 years in a BIM-focused role
  • Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) for transportation and infrastructure projects
  • Proficient in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, ACC, Synchro, and Civil3D, and Infra Works
  • Proficiency in BIM authoring platforms from Bentley Systems (e.g., Open Roads, Open Bridge, etc.)
  • Experience managing complex, multidisciplinary projects in a BIM environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical challenges
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related industry experience
  • Proficiency in Project Wise
  • Understanding of 3D, 4D, and 5D BIM processes, including clash detection, scheduling, and quantity take-offs
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650 and other relevant BIM standards
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
Compensation

The range for this position is $110,000 – $165,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
