In the role of Mechanical Construction Inspector, you'll:

• Demonstrate familiarity with construction materials, methods, and processes for buildings and facilities
• Inspect electrical, mechanical/HVAC, and site civil work
• Mentor junior staff and provide supervision as needed
• Collaborate with project teams and managers
• Interpret construction drawings and specifications, identifying discrepancies
• Document observations of construction progress
• Serve as the senior inspector on projects as required
• Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• At least 5 years’ experience in construction inspection of mechanical/HVAC work on major transportation or infrastructure projects for public agencies such as PANYNJ, MTA/NYCT, NJ Transit, NYCDDC, NYCSCA
• NFPA Fire Protection System Certification and ICC M2 Mechanical Inspector Certification
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• PE license in New York or New Jersey
• OSHA 30-hour training
• Experience with vertical transportation systems
• Preference for local candidates

Required Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Successful passing of drug screening prior to hiring; ongoing random and cause testing
• Active participation in our employee-owned culture
