Job Description & How to Apply Below

At Vessel Technologies, we are committed to solving one of the world's most critical challenges—the global housing crisis. In 2024, we introduced the V1, a complete game changer. It's gorgeous, wickedly smart, healthy, safe, sustainable, and at an affordable price. It's going to end the global housing meltdown and restore faith in the American dream for essential members of our community, including teachers, first responders, and essential workers who can't afford a decent place to call home.

We believe everyone deserves access to a healthy, safe, and beautiful home, and we are working to make that vision a reality, one Vessel at a time.

As a Mechanical Engineer at Vessel Technologies, you will be crucial in developing innovative, sustainable housing solutions. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including architects, process engineers, and project managers, to design and develop mechanical systems that align with our mission to revolutionize the housing industry. This role requires a blend of creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail, as you will be responsible for ensuring that designs are innovative but also manufacturable and sustainable.

If you are passionate about mechanical design, product development, and energy‑efficient systems, this is the perfect opportunity to contribute to our fast‑growing team.

Sound like you? Let’s talk.

What you will do in the role
  • Design and develop mechanical systems for Vessel's prefabricated housing products, utilizing advanced 3D modeling (Solidworks), 2D sketching tools, and design validation from concept through to documentation.
  • Collaborate with architects, construction teams, process engineers, and other cross‑functional teams to align designs with project requirements.
  • Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency of products.
  • Validate designs through prototyping at various stages and ensure concept integrity.
  • Research and recommend materials, manufacturing processes, and energy‑efficient solutions to improve product design.
  • Lead mechanical design projects, managing timelines and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Ensure all designs comply with sustainability standards, industry regulations, and building codes.
  • Present design concepts and progress to leadership and project stakeholders, providing technical insights and recommendations.
Experience and qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, product design, or product development.
  • Proficiency in Solid Works, including 3D modeling, sheet metal, large assembly management, and 2D detailing.
  • Experience with DFM/DFA principles and an understanding of manufacturing processes and materials.
  • Knowledge of sustainable design principles and modern building systems is a plus.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills with a focus on detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills for presenting design concepts and collaborating across teams.
  • Project management experience and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Salary: $100,000 - $120,000 a year

Benefits
  • Competitive compensation with performance bonus and equity options
  • 401k & Health Plans (Medical, Dental, and Vision), including HSA/FSA options
  • Life, AD&D, and Disability Insurance, plus Critical Illness and Accident Insurance
