Lighting Engineer – Gramercy

Job Summary

The Lighting Engineer will be responsible for the load‑in, setup, operation, and maintenance of lighting equipment for live events, ensuring safety, technical excellence, and collaboration with production crews.

Responsibilities
  • Load‑in of band equipment and rental equipment.
  • Setup and breakdown of band and event equipment.
  • Focus and lighting adjustments to meet artist or event specifications.
  • Operate and program spotlight operations/lighting control boards.
  • Maintain and repair lighting equipment.
  • Assist with production throughout the house as needed.
  • Accommodate artist/event A/V requirements.
  • Ensure safe and consistent operation of lighting.
  • Assist with technical advance with artists’ representatives.
  • Provide proper care and handling of all HOBE and rental lighting & A/V equipment.
  • Coordinate with visiting production crews to ensure a successful show.
  • Distribute or create lighting plot plans.
  • Operate systems pertaining to lighting throughout the entire event.
  • Schedule and meet Special Events lighting needs.
  • Assist audio crew with stands, microphones, cables, etc.
  • Assist with any Special Events operations.
Required Qualifications
  • 3 years minimum tour or stage production experience.
  • Experience in stage lighting, pro‑audio systems, and basic video systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications.
  • Superior interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
  • High school diploma.
Preferred Qualifications
  • College degree.
Physical Demands / Working Environment
  • Lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Work in an environment with moderate to loud noise, extreme lighting changes, strobes & moving lights.
  • Wear a radio earpiece during scheduled shifts.
