Salary: $70,000 - $72,175
Domains:
* Work in tandem with various departments to plan and execute all theatrical productions including Youth Program productions.
* Assume the role of Production Manager for select theatrical productions.
* Schedule and lead all production meetings with assistance from Associate Production Managers.
* Build and maintain detailed physical production and labor budgets after receiving pre-approved budgets from the Assistant Dean for Theatrical Production.
* Create and maintain production calendars for all productions, with assistance from Associate Production Managers.
* Work in tandem with various departments to create project deadlines.
* Coordinate scheduling of orchestra and band rehearsals for all theatrical productions in collaboration with the Large Ensembles Manager and the Associate Director of Theatrical Operations.
* Serve as the primary contact for all
* Ensure that designers make deadlines and adhere to
* Source bids for all relevant departments after designs are approved, seeking cost-effective opportunities.
* Coordinate shared physical resources (i.e., platforms, soft goods, props and scenic stock) and verify gear availability per project, in collaboration with various team members.
* Provide support for the rehearsal room by managing rehearsal report requests, checking in on rehearsal room needs, and communicating with stage management.
* Attend all Design Presentations.
* Provide training and oversight to Associate Production Managers; assist with scheduling costume fittings for all theatrical productions.
* Create crew schedules based on the production calendar and within the labor budget, and secure all necessary production staff for theatrical productions. Positions include department heads, show crew, and load-in/strike labor.
* Coordinate payroll for part-time theatrical production labor in collaboration with the Performance and Production Operations Department Manager.
* Make purchases and approve expenses within preapproved budgets.
* Provide oversight for all activities in the theatre from load-in through strike.
* Present a final, reconciled budget after load-in and strike.
* Run post-mortem meetings to help improve the process in which MSM produces theatrical productions.
Job Requirements:
* 3+ years of production management experience.
* Working understanding of the operations of carpentry/rigging, automation, lighting, sound, props, and costumes.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom, Vectorworks is required.
* Ability to read and evaluate technical drawings.
* Experience with IATSE crews and contracts preferred.
* Professional demeanor and superb verbal and written communication skills.
* Comfortable in high-pressure situations; adaptable, solution-orientated, and skilled in collaboration.
* Strong working knowledge of theatrical production and rehearsal processes.
* Familiarity with and sensitivity to the performing arts and artist training environments.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
* Ability to work irregular and extended working hours.
* Ability to move throughout the theatre and office environment and continuously perform essential functions for an extended period.
