Job Title:

Accounting Manager/Assistant Controller

NYC Family Office seeks Financial Manager/Accounting Manager. Family office experience required.

• Develop and implement processes and procedures for bill pay, reconciliation, and reporting.
• Maintain consolidated books and records for multiple business lines.
• Record intercompany transactions and reconcile them.
• Ensure accuracy of the monthly close process and support timely and reliable reporting.
• Process all accounts payable transactions.
• Process payment of real‑estate related expenses, including mortgages, property tax, LLC registration fees, etc.
• Communicate highly and effectively across the organization.
• Oversee cash management, including preparing wire transfers and coordinating fund movement with financial institutions.
• Manage lender submission requirements.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Manage budgets and financial reporting.
• Prepare financial analysis, including cash‑flow forecasts.
• Partner with external tax and audit professionals.
• Track all philanthropic gifts and political donations.
• Manage payroll and benefit plans.
• Manage insurance plans.
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting and analysis.
• Continue to mature accounting practices to maintain accuracy and quality while increasing scale.
• Communicate with management on ongoing projects, including automation of various accounting processes such as wires and reporting.

• A degree in accounting, finance, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• 3+ years of accounting experience; public accounting, family office, or holding company preferred.
• Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, analytical, and possessing strong communication skills.
• The ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and take on new responsibilities quickly.
