Corporate Finance Partner – Leveraged Finance for AM Law 200 Firm

Position Overview

They are seeking an experienced Corporate Finance Partner with expertise in leveraged finance and sponsor‑backed lending to join our team. The role is ideal for someone who wants to leverage their transactional experience at a partner level without the immediate pressure of a large book of business.

• Leading full‑service law firm in the AmLaw 200 with strong regional and national presence.
• Known for collaborative culture, high quality work, and deep relationships with financial institutions, private equity sponsors, and commercial clients.
• Offers substantial internal resources (capital markets, tax, regulatory support) and cross‑office collaboration for sophisticated corporate transactions.

• Lead and advise on leveraged acquisition finance transactions, sponsor‑backed deals, refinancings, and other complex corporate financings.
• Serve commercial finance companies, financial institutions, and private equity sponsors in structuring and negotiating credit facilities, term loans, bridge financings, and corporate acquisition financing.
• Oversee due diligence, contractual documentation, and closing of finance transactions.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams (e.g., tax, regulatory, real estate) to deliver seamless service.
• Mentor and develop associates and mid‑level lawyers in the corporate finance / lending practice.
• Participate in business development: building relationships, occasionally generating portable business, though this is not required at entry.

• Juris Doctor (or equivalent), admitted in one or more U.S. jurisdictions.
• At least 8‑10+ years of experience in leveraged finance, corporate acquisition finance, or similar transactional banking/lending work.
• Demonstrated familiarity with private equity sponsor structures and negotiating financing terms / credit documents.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously and to take ownership from start to finish.

• No book of business required from day one. Portable business is a plus, but candidates can rise based on origination + execution.
• Access to large‑scale, sponsor‑backed transactions.
• Collaborative environment with significant support from finance, tax, banking, and institutional practices.
• National platform: ability to leverage the firm’s presence across multiple offices.
