A leading proprietary trading firm in New York is looking to hire a Senior Systematic Quantitative Researcher to focus on alpha strategy development in equities and futures. This role is ideal for experienced researchers with a strong individual track record in signal generation and strategy implementation across liquid global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and develop short- to medium-term systematic trading strategies in equities and futures.
• Analyze large, structured and unstructured datasets to identify alpha signals and inefficiencies.
• Design and maintain robust backtesting frameworks to evaluate signal performance.
• Work closely with technologists and traders to bring strategies into production and optimize execution.
• Monitor strategy performance post-deployment and iterate as necessary based on real-time feedback.

Candidate Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in systematic trading or quantitative research, ideally at a prop shop or hedge fund.
• Proven success in building and deploying profitable strategies in equities and/or futures.
• Strong programming skills in Python, R, or C++; experience with large-scale computing is a plus.
• Deep understanding of statistics, econometrics, and time-series analysis.
• Advanced degree (PhD or Master’s) in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a high-performance trading environment.
