Senior Accounting Manager – Dreamwear

Dreamwear is a leading wholesale intimate apparel and sleepwear company working with brands such as Danskin, Juicy Couture, Roxy, Laura Ashley, and Nicole Miller. The Finance & Accounting team oversees the financial books and records for Dreamwear and its affiliated entities, including an overseas entity located in Asia.
We are looking to hire a Senior Accounting Manager to manage and oversee the day‑to‑day finance/accounting responsibilities of Dreamwear and its affiliated entities. This includes managing the month‑end close process and overseeing the AP/AR/cash management and financial reporting functions.
Our ideal candidate has a degree in Accounting (or a related field), a strong understanding of accounting processes, exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent time‑management abilities.
Responsibilities- Lead the month‑end close and consolidation process across the organization on a monthly basis.
- Prepare the monthly internal reporting package for executive teams and present the results and findings for our domestic and overseas entities.
- Manage the processes and assist within the accounting organization, such as AR, AP and financial reporting.
- Serve as the key contact for external auditors for all financial statement reviews/annual audits and preparation of tax returns.
- Be proactive in identifying and implementing process improvements across the organization to increase efficiency within financial reporting.
- Oversee, monitor and work to improve accounting procedures, internal controls and database management.
- Audit the workflow to ensure that all accounting transactions are processed accurately and in compliance with industry standards.
- Reconcile the general ledger on a real‑time basis.
- Monitor the asset capitalization policy and the recording of depreciation.
- Conduct account reconciliation and analysis.
- Assist in the monthly and yearly closing.
- Review monthly bank reconciliations.
- Assist in the implementation of FASB changes.
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in Accounting or Finance;
Professional Certification (CPA) preferred but not required. - Mix of both public & private sector experience required.
- 7–10 years’ experience managing the financial processes of an organization.
- Wholesale industry experience is required; fashion apparel experience is a plus: demonstrated understanding of inventory stages and warehousing processes, including software/EDI and chargebacks.
- Experience with bank factoring process is preferred but not required.
- Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Strong computer skills: expert with MS Office especially Excel and PowerPoint; knowledge of accounting systems such as Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Knowledge of reading and researching EDI is a plus.
- Multi‑tasking, highly organized, and able to meet tight deadlines.
