Senior Director, Engagement & Capacity Building, Bureau of Harlem Neighborhood Health,  # 711623

The Bureau of Harlem Neighborhood Health (Harlem BNH) supports the Health Department's mission to protect and promote the health of all New Yorkers.

Duties
  • Lead strategic planning, implementation and evaluation of bureau's capacity building efforts.
  • Evaluate various data sources, including community partner surveys; use evaluation findings to inform program development and recommendations; develop trainings and workshops for community-based organizations.
  • Supervise staff conducting community surveys, listening sessions and assessments; review literature to assess innovative and effective community engagement.
  • Lead and support the use of PHPC, and other IT solutions, in maintaining partner relations, etc.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience developing, conducting and evaluating community assessments.
  • Experience in program design and development.
  • Experience in various data collection methods such as interviews, questionnaires and focus groups, etc.
Qualifications
  • A doctorate degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and one year of full-time experience in a responsible supervisory, administrative or research capacity in the appropriate field of specialization.
  • A master's degree from an accredited college or university with specialization in an appropriate field of physical, biological, environmental or social science and three years of responsible full-time research experience in the appropriate field of specialization.
  • New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment.
